Below, we’ve compared ClickFunnels and Leadpages to showcase their similarities, as well as the numerous differences between these two online marketing applications. If you’re searching for landing page and sales funnel software, read on to find out which one is best for you.
Honestly, ClickFunnels promises a lot of functionality, and some of it is substandard and not really ready for prime-time (Actionetics, their email tool is ehhhh). However, at the core of it, the landing page builder is quite robust and I like how it provides more of a visual link between pages than LeadPages.
The main goal is to offer the customers different things at different time to maximize the profit for each client. The offer depends on how the client responds to previous offers. The funnels can be a simple or complex, depending on how strategy of the marketers. Whatever that is, the bottom-line is still to increase the sales profit.
It’s a really brilliant integration because you may already have all your funnels set up in ClickFunnels , but you may be interested in some different types of digital products that Kajabi might provide or different membership site options.
Moz’s site, which features headlines like “SEO simplified” and “rise in constantly evolving SERPS with the right tools, recommendations, and trusted data,” is a little jargon-heavy. Less advanced users might not immediately know what SERPs are. There’s a lot of text as well.
I am active on social media and have been busy gaining the attraction, attention and then interacting with my target audience but so far doing so without a website or blog in place to redirect that attention too.
The first page is the profiles page where you’ll be able to see everyone who’s opted into your lists across ClickFunnels. This is where we’ll be able to see how many people join/unsubscribe to your lists and where we’ll also be able to see information about your contacts.
On the whole, the $29 plan is somewhat limited. It does not include A/B split testing, so there’s no way to test one page against another. These features are available in the $55 a month Pro plan and $79 per month Premium plan.
First, it seems a bit sketchy. There’s no “contact us” or support options anywhere that I can find. Also, the site contains a lot of broken links and it seems kind of sloppy. That being said, the tool does what it’s supposed to… so, I imagine they’re more focused on development than marketing, but it still seems a little “weird”. (as of 07DEC2017, still no “contact us” on the site; however, I was able to get in touch with the two guys who run the tool via Facebook Messenger… they’re a good couple of guys that are just grinding hard. Here’s Michael’s (CEO) Facebook profile, if you need to message him.)
There are two options: pro pricing and free signup. Signing up is as simple as possible. You just need to create a username and password. Once you get in and start using their tools, you’ll have to upgrade. The free account limits the number of forms you can use. When you hit that limit, you’re requested to upgrade. Otherwise your account won’t work.
Now I know I wouldn’t do Clickfunnels justice if you I don’t show a quick screen cast of me editing one of their pages. So check back this portion of the blog post in the future and I will certainly include a video here. For now I will just put up a screenshot of how the editor looks like. If you notice on the right, there are tons of “Properties” for every element which allows you to change every aspect of your design.
Funnels also integrate auto responders and other payment processors to help make the transactions run smoothly. You give your clients a chance to choose what they want and you make the call for action as fast as it could. Everything happens automatically by clicking a page.
The same plans are available at $25/month (Standard) and $49/month (Pro) when you opt for an annual subscription. For Marketing teams and agencies, you have to choose annual subscriptions. The ‘Advanced’ plan starts at $199/month.
Thanks Miles, for sharing this information. I have been trying to keep things simple by having one source of platform for my biz. I was looking at Clickfunnels and was really very keen to be on their membership as it will take away other expenses such as hosting, autoresponders, etc. But looking at what you have written…I am having second thoughts. Thanks for sharing again. I will check out the alternative you have recommended.
I’ve found over ten thousand dollars that have been dropped by Clickfunnels. From my research, it looks like there are more people in that same situation. So, I decided that was it. Once it hit my pocketbook and it was financially affecting me, it was worth it to move.
Other things I like about LeadPages are that it’s simple to use. This is also a negative as I’ll explain later in this post but I do like the fact that it’s easy to use, and they keep it simple. Also the pricing, it’s certainly not cheap however in comparison to ClickFunnels it is cheaper and they don’t put limits on your account like how much traffic you can receive. Another positive is that it integrates easily into WordPress, you just download a plugin, upload and you’re done. You can still track all your stats from inside the LeadPages back office.
Thrive Themes does not include payment systems within the platform. To take payment you have to link to a external payment page, or separate page within your WordPress site that has a payment plugin such as Woo-Commerce setup. This is very easy to do but it makes tracking your actual conversions more difficult.
Hi Miles, thanks for the info. I was about to choose CF’s but am feeling disheartened with the negative reviews, such as this one. I have a couple of sales funnels mapped out Basic eg :Free lead generator >>Tripwire/thank you page.>>>nurture sequence/sales sequence>>>>28 day online program>>>>>Nurture/sales email sequence >>>>>12 month membership. From what I’ve read, Thrive themes is ideal if your planning on building a whole website with blog posts etc, where SEO is a consideration. Thing is, that’s not what we plan on doing, which is why we were considering CF’s. Should also mention we are hoping to put all the material for all our online products onto a website from the free optin, to the video series (which is the tripwire), to our online course, and off course the membership. Would you still suggested Thrive Themes in this instance?
MailChimp is a freemium email marketing tool. Similar to Wufoo, they offer a free plan (good through 2,000 contacts). A bit of background: MailChimp grew their business significantly when they decided to go freemium. How? At the bottom of every email, it would say something like Powered by MailChimp. Every customer email sent helped to spread the word. It created a kind of viral loop.
Instead of bombarding the customer with information, Crazy Egg keeps the info light. However, the copy is clear and confident so customers know what they’re getting before they submit their email address.
– It will not replace aweber. While it does have some email automation regarding the webinars, it is not a replacement for your autoresponder. However it integrates nicely with Aweber (and most other autoresponders).
LeadPages is now offering at two year billing option while ClickFunnels pricing offers the annual option only through direct upsells. At some point, I’d like to analyze their check out processes in a more forensic detail to see if I can pick up on any subtle funnel magic at play.
Funnels fall into different types and each one needs to be properly organized and designed to cater to its intended audience. There are funnels for subscriptions, sales, webinars, memberships, and many others. The good news is that ClickFunnels has got your back no matter what type of funnel you’re looking to build.

“My husband and I have been giving a lot of thought to our retirement and what we could do to secure our future. We owned a very successful taxidermy business for several years until my husband hurt his back. Because of his love of guns we checked out the AGI course and we both got excited at the possibility of being self employed doing something we enjoy and securing our future”
However, Leadpages is more limited in scope than ClickFunnels. You use it to create landing pages that will help you collect leads. This is not a bad thing because LeadPages really shines for making landing pages fast.
For example, when you’re running ads to drive traffic or collect leads, you don’t want to run them to your homepage because there’s not enough direction as to what your prospect should do. You need to direct them to your Landing Page.
I’m just looking for the easiest “all in one” system to create and deliver products and courses and track things (I may wanna build out a blog too w content and this may be a reason to go with Thrive?), but Kajabi seemed like it was the best/easiest option.
With leadpages you get 30% monthly commissions for the lifetime of the customer. I love monthly recurring commissions, it’s predictable and you can build a real asset as I describe in how to create an authority site / muse business.
Leadpages’ is an incredibly popular choice for online business owners looking to create landing pages. And since the application features professionally-crafted landing page designs, they are used by many businesses making their templates easily recognizable.
There is hardly any product these days that come without downsells and upsells. Now managing these downsells and upsells with ClickFunnels is easy. These upsells and downsells are part of the funnel therefore ClickFunnels handles them perfectly. You don’t have to do much of the work.
Those visuals are one of the things that really stands out for me about Crazy Egg now compared to how it was. In the past, it was much more heavy on the copy and in explaining the benefits of the service.
Unlike ClickFunnels, LeadPages lets you access hundreds of page templates even with the basic plan. The templates also include two-step opt-in forms used to gather leads on your blog and website content.
